Scale

I don't often pay any attention to scale, but I was sitting here bored, thinking about my next model and wondered just how big my ships are.

I took the latest one and put it in Carrara which has real world scaling. but what to measure it against. I can see the windows, so took a deck height of about 12 feet. Then I needed some known quantity to give it a scale. So, I loaded up my Enterprise model. Assuming that Big E (which turns out to not be very big) is around 950 feet (depending which website you look at), I scaled my ship to 5250 feet long!!

So here is a render of the Enterprise flying along side my ship. Hard to tell from here, but I placed it so the Enterprise Bridge is along side the big ships bridge.

Next to scale it against a Super Star Destroyer (57362 feet!!)
